I would run at least 6 or 8 wire, 18 AWG thermostat wire new, especially if the furnace is on the other side of the wall! You should connect R, W, C and G from the furnace terminals to the Wyze thermostat terminals. NettetNow I couldn’t figure out how to release the wires. I yanked the wires while pushing down the lever and they didn’t come out. It seems the only way is to cut the wires and the thermostat becomes unusable. I guess Wyze doesn’t want you to disconnect. While pressing the lever down, use a small nose pliers to pull out the wire.
